Manor Court Early Years Centre

WELCOME

At Manor Court Early Years Centre we are the first introduction to your child's educational journey. We care for children aged 2-4 years. Our aim is to support your child to become independent, sociable, and enhance their already budding intrigue. In your child's final year with us we tailor their experiences to prepare them for school admission.

Within our setting we are fortunate to have a large main play room, a quiet room, a sensory room, and a large outdoor area with a mud kitchen, bug area, pergola, and a literacy shed. Within the main play room and outside area the seven categories of the Early Years Foundation Stage are incorporated. These include Personal, Social, and Emotional development, Communication and Language, Physical, Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World, and Expressive Arts & Design.

Our sensory room provides a calm space where we are able to take children out of the room and guide them through any unsettling moments that they have. Within this room we have a dark den, a range of textured objects and lights, mirrors, and wooden equipment which can meet the individual needs of the child. We also have a quiet room readily available for our children to explore ICT, and 1:1 activities and books.

We are proud to be part of Manor Court Community School and use all of their facilities including the school field, Foundation Stage outdoor educational area, the school hall, and the wildlife area.  We also enjoy participating in whole school events such as sports day, Church services, and charity days.

On joining us each child will be allocated a key person. This key person plays a specific role in settling the children in, adhering to the child's routine, building a strong parent partnership, and making sure your child is safe and secure. Your child's key person will also be responsible for working closely with your child, monitoring their progress and recording observations onto your child's learning journey.

We use an electronic learning journey called Eylog. This is linked to your email address and you will be able to access it at any time. This will be set up when your child starts with us. Through Eylog you are able to comment, like, download, and also create your own observations from home to share with us which we encourage.

For children who join us from two, we complete a two year progress check on your child. This focuses on the three prime areas of learning. These are Communication and Language, Personal, Social, and Emotional development, and Physical development. This check identifies the child's personal strengths and also the child's next steps within these main areas of learning. This check also ensures that all parents have a clear picture of their child's development, and highlights actions that we intend to take to support your child at Pre-School. This information then gets shared with Health Visitors and any other outside professionals if necessary.
