Welcome to Badgers class with Mrs Coate. We have some amazing adults working in our class throughout the week: Miss Jones, Mrs Nadeau, Mr Jackson and Mrs Morton. The children have come back from the Christmas break with a brilliant attitude towards their learning.
In Badgers we expect the highest of standards in behaviour, attitude, learning and homework. We aim to set the standards for all the other pupils in the school, being positive role models.
In English this term we will be focussing on persuasion texts, narratives in the 1st person and explanation texts. In Maths our focus will be Fractions, decimals and percentages, and then properties of shape, position and direction. We will continue to focus on our calculation skills throughout the term.
P.E. will be taught by Mr Jackson on a Monday but P.E. kit is expected to be in school every eday please. Mrs Morton will be teaching Art this term and we can’t wait to see the great creations that our amazing class will produce.
Our topic this term is Geography and History based and is called: What impact has the Shang Dynasty had on the modern world? We will be studying the natural features of China, comparing a Chinese city and Chard, studying the Shang Dynasty and exploring Chinese cultural traditions. In Science we are learning about Living things and their habitats. This will include looking at the reproduction of plants and animals, comparing a variety of life cycles and finding out about the work of Jane Goodall, a primatologist (someone who studies primates).
